DTE Summer Student Employment program

22 Feb

The company will accept applications for its popular 2012 Summer Student Employment program Feb. 13 to Feb. 27. The program is an important part of DTE Energy’s efforts to develop future talent for our company. It provides full-time, temporary employment opportunities for students who are either college undergraduates or high school seniors who will attend college in the fall.

Students wishing to apply for an internship must complete an electronic Summer Student Questionnaire under Careers on the DTE website, www.dteenergy.com  between Feb. 13 and Feb. 27. No paper applications will be accepted. When a student accepts an offer, he/she will receive instructions on how to complete the application packet from the recruiter with a specified completion date.
Applicants also should know:
Applications will not be available prior to Feb. 13.
Students MUST provide a copy of their official transcript in order to be considered.
Employee referrals are not required.

Scholarship Opportunity from Kroger

2 Feb

February is Black History month and Kroger would like to invite studens to participate in its 5th annual “I Can Make History” contest.  Kroger will award more than $60,000 in scholarships, laptop computers and family field trips to student winners in four categories:  art, essay, music and poetry.
The “I Can Make History” contest is open to Michigan students in the Michigan Kroger Division in the 4th throught12th  grades.  Entries must be each student’s original work, with one entry accepted per student per category.  All entries will be judged by an independent organization and winners will be notified by March 14, 2012.
Every student entering must fill out an application and submit a signed authorization form.  The latter will give Kroger permission to display each winning entry at designated venues in Michigan.  Visit “icanmakehistory.com” for more information and to download registration forms.

Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation offers a $2,000, scholarship to graduating seniors

2 Feb

The Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation offers a $2,000, non-renewable scholarship to graduating seniors. Winners are selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership, financial need, and dedication to the civil rights principles of Rosa L. Parks, whose historic stand against racial prejudice in 1955 brought her national recognition.  The Foundation was established in 1980 to provide equal-opportunity scholarships to Michigan high school seniors.

College offers free tuition for all its students

31 Jan
Posted from Yahoo! Finance
How would you like to go to a private liberal arts college that will give you a full-ride tuition scholarship for four years? Sounds crazy? Actually, I’m serious. Antioch College in Yellow Spring, Ohio, is waiving the tuition for all its students, who enroll in the next three years. How much are these freebies worth? The value of the free tuition for the current year is $26,500. The scholarship, based on that price, makes each scholarship worth at least $106,000. Some students, who file financial aid applications, will capture an even greater price break. If they qualify, they may get to skip the room and board charges or pay a reduced price. Antioch’s room
