Registration – 2012 New Parent / Athlete Orientation Meeting (Ages / Born 1995 – 2005)
(This meeting is for parents with athletes that did not participate in the outdoor season during the summer of 2011 & before) … If you ran indoor this 2012 season but did not run with us the summer of 2011 you are considered a new summer member and must attend the New Parent Orientation Meeting. *** New Location for Orientation *** Saturday, April 7th, 2012 2:00 to 4:00 25240 Lahser Rd, Southfield, MI (Lots of parking in the rear of the building- Office Building)
Register at the orientation Meeting (Fee $105.00, Money Order or Cashiers Check Made out to the Southfield Mustangs TC) AAU fees will be paid directly to the Southfield Mustangs $14.00 (Money Order or Cashiers Check) due 2 weeks prior to first meet. USATF fees will be paid directly to the Southfield Mustangs $20.00 (Money Order or Cashiers Check) due 2 weeks prior to first meet.
Athletes who competed in the 2012 AAU indoor season have paid their AAU fees for the 2012 season.

First day of practice Monday, April 9th. 6:30 to 7:30 @ Birmingham Seaholm High School. All athletes must report at 6:15, to complete warm up laps. You must register your athlete before they can report to practice. Please bring your receipt as proof of payment to the first day of practice.

If you know of any youth, ages 15-18, who will be interested in summer employment, Greening of Detroit has 160 open positions for their Green Summer Jobs program.  There are also positions available for young adults, 21 and up, to serve as Green Corp Crew Leader.

DTE Summer Student Employment program

The company will accept applications for its popular 2012 Summer Student Employment program Feb. 13 to Feb. 27. The program is an important part of DTE Energy’s efforts to develop future talent for our company. It provides full-time, temporary employment opportunities for students who are either college undergraduates or high school seniors who will attend college in the fall.

Students wishing to apply for an internship must complete an electronic Summer Student Questionnaire under Careers on the DTE website, www.dteenergy.com  between Feb. 13 and Feb. 27. No paper applications will be accepted. When a student accepts an offer, he/she will receive instructions on how to complete the application packet from the recruiter with a specified completion date.
Applicants also should know:
Applications will not be available prior to Feb. 13.
Students MUST provide a copy of their official transcript in order to be considered.
Employee referrals are not required.

Scholarship Opportunity from Kroger

February is Black History month and Kroger would like to invite studens to participate in its 5th annual “I Can Make History” contest.  Kroger will award more than $60,000 in scholarships, laptop computers and family field trips to student winners in four categories:  art, essay, music and poetry.
The “I Can Make History” contest is open to Michigan students in the Michigan Kroger Division in the 4th throught12th  grades.  Entries must be each student’s original work, with one entry accepted per student per category.  All entries will be judged by an independent organization and winners will be notified by March 14, 2012.
Every student entering must fill out an application and submit a signed authorization form.  The latter will give Kroger permission to display each winning entry at designated venues in Michigan.  Visit “icanmakehistory.com” for more information and to download registration forms.
