Detroit Titan Cross Country Invitational on 9/10/2011

17 Sep

The Cross Country team participated in the Detroit Titan Cross
Country Invitational on 9/10/2011. The field was comprised of 21 high school
teams and seven middle school teams. While the weather was not optimal (I.e.
rain and lots of mud) the kids had a great time. Donae’ Adams was an award
winner for the team, but each athlete ran a phenomenal time considering the
weather conditions. Donae’ came in the top 25 for the overall girls middle
school race in a time of 15:32 for the 1.5 mile course and is only 10 years
old. Donovan Luttrell was the top placing high school athlete for the Mustangs
in a time of 20:37 for the 3.1 mile course. Our youngest athlete, Anthony Hardy
(6 yrs old) completed the 1.5 mile course in 20:13 beating out several middle
school boys from other teams. Listed below are the remaining Mustang runners
with their times and places. Some of the places were not available because the
athlete forgot to turn in their placement cards to me.

The team’s next meet is the Huron High School Cross Country
Invitational which will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011. We will have
12 Mustangs competing in either a 3.1 mile race or a 1.1 mile race. The meet
will be held at Willow Metropark and will begin around 10:00a for the high
school athletes and 2:00p for the K-6 runners. Wish us good luck and if you are
not busy we would love the additional Mustang support.
